We have kept the name of the Jefferson City Carmel on the roster of our members. The Discalced Carmelite Nuns of the Carmel of Jefferson City have provided a ministry of prayer and sacrifice for the Diocese since 1960. In 2013 the community of three members moved from their monastery to a private residence on the grounds of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri. They enjoy the support of the Most Reverend William Shawn McKnight, bishop of Jefferson City.
