Carmel of Mary Immaculate and St. Mary Magdalen

Flemington, New Jersey

Nestled in the rolling hills of western New Jersey, the Carmel of Mary Immaculate and St. Mary Magdalen gratefully joins our sisters of St. Joseph’s Association in living out our Discalced Carmelite life in the footsteps of Our Holy Mother St. Teresa of Avila, praying for the Holy Father, priests, and all those in need of our prayers. Our Carmel was founded in 1949 in answer to Our Lady’s call at Fatima for prayer and penance. That call is reflected in our name—Mary Immaculate symbolizes prayer, while St. Mary Magdalen represents penance.
